TELETHERAPY
In these uncertain times we may feel unsure of our way forward. This is natural. There will be times when we think our life is on a roller coaster. We need to be able to acknowledge how we feel and follow some relaxation and mindfulness techniques. In addition to this we all need to set ourselves some routines for our day which we haven’t needed to consider before. You can look at this from either a negative standpoint or view it in a positive light. I prefer the positive stance.
I strongly advocate you try to get some form of balance in your life. If you can factor in a quick brisk walk in the morning before you settle at your desk. Likewise at lunch time get up from your desk and either do another brisk walk or do something totally unrelated to work – even if its 15minutes. The other important thing to practice is ensuring you stop working at the latest 6pm. Don’t carry your work into the evening. I am sure there are other things which can be done during your evening. Your brain needs that break from watching that computer screen. You need to impose this discipline in your life.
If you feel these techniques and suggestions are not working and feeling out of control this is the point when having a Skype, Google Meet or zoom session with a counsellor would be in order.
I know some people are reluctant to have such a session but once you have been “face to face“ for a couple of minutes you will feel okay about it.
